About Rowbase
A small team of forward-deployed AI engineers.
Rowbase embeds with businesses that need production AI inside specific, high-context workflows. We bring AI, data, and software engineering in one engagement so the work can move from idea to running system without handing ownership to a vendor.
Who we are
Senior builders, not generalists.
Rowbase was started by founders with prior YC-backed exits and engineers with PhD-level work in AI and data infrastructure. We are deliberately small. Each engagement is led by a senior builder, not a delivery layer.
We work the way a serious internal team would work: we live in the systems where the work happens, we read the documents you already have, we listen to how decisions actually get made, and we build the smallest useful thing first.
We are currently working with a publicly traded company and a handful of growth-stage businesses across insurance, private equity, B2B SaaS, and professional services.
How we work
Principles we don't bend.
01
Workflow before model
We start with the actual decision being made, not the technology. The AI is the last thing we choose, not the first.
02
Source-grounded by default
Every answer should cite the document or record it came from. We design for traceability so the business can act on the output with confidence.
03
Humans in the loop on anything material
Sensitive workflows get review surfaces, not silent automation. The system improves with every reviewer correction.
04
Client-owned, not vendor-locked
Code, context layer, and operating leverage belong to the client. We work inside your environment so the system continues to compound after we leave.
05
Useful in weeks, not quarters
We scope the first version tightly and ship it. The narrow workflow that works in production beats the broad one that almost works.
Who we work with
The work fits when:
- You have a workflow worth $250K+/year of team time or risk
- The valuable knowledge is scattered across docs, tools, threads, and people's heads
- Off-the-shelf AI tools have already failed because they don't see your specific context
- Someone senior needs to be able to trust the output before the business acts on it
- You'd rather own the system than rent another vendor relationship
Sound like a fit?
Tell us the workflow you have in mind. If it fits, we'll scope a useful first version and tell you exactly what we'd need from your team to ship it.
